Recent computer games, I realize, have quite extensive film making feature implemented. (e.g. Halo3, Tf2.. etc) So I search around on youtube for a bit and here are a couple of interesting ones that i came across.

These are better than some of the cartoons I've seen on TV recently! Sophisticated stuff ...
Speaking of video game footage — it's not quite the same, but I was wowed by this Guitar Hero performance. (For reference, see about 3:30 into the real-life band's video.)
Here's another video in a similar vein. It was made in the game Crysis which is one of many recent games with full physics simulation capabilities. It gets interesting at the end with the engine trying to simulate hundreds and then thousands of oil barrels exploding.
That guitar hero performance was crazy!!! It pwned, it PWNED! (FpsDoug style)
OMG, my face was melted by the real band performance. Paramedics are on their way.
