Bite-sized YouTube clips are the perfect medium for MacFarlane, since he can put out a whole bunch of gags without having to shoehorn them into a plot (using manatees).
That said, I've probably seen every episode the manatees wrote. Even the newer ones, which are getting pretty tired, are good for at least one laugh (Bobby McFerrin falling down stairs, anyone?).
